Does your child (aged 5-12) need support after experiencing or witnessing family violence?

Aviva’s Tamariki RISE programme empowers children (ages 5-12) to build resilience, safety and confidence.

Through regular fun, interactive 2-hour sessions, tamariki learn about healthy relationships, personal boundaries, and develop coping strategies and plans.

The Tamariki Relationship and Individual Safety Education (RISE) programme: Empowers children through fun, child-centered activities. Teaches valuable skills in a positive and supportive environment.

During the 10-week programme run during the school term in North Canterbury, tamariki will be supported to:

  • Develop a personal safety plan
  • Understand healthy relationships
  • Build self-confidence, personal space, and boundaries
  • Foster positive experiences with others
  • Learn healthy ways to manage anger
  • Recognise and respond to harm or bullying

Individual or group sessions led by trained family violence specialists.

Tamariki sessions run over two-hours including breaks for kai and kōrero. Sessions are led by trained family violence specialists.

The next North Canterbury Tamariki RISE Group starts in Term One 2025.  Spaces are available in Terms 1 and 2, 2025.
